Adding a modern twist to Malaysian food, Fatty Crab serves up pretty fantastic dishes like Fatty Duck and Watermelon Pick with Crispy Pork. It's a good place to go to with four or five people so you can try several dishes, all served in sharing portions. Some of my other favorites are the Nasi Goreg, Pork Steamed Buns, Dorade Royale, Char Kway Teow and the Fatty Sliders with beef. The dishes here give a fun and modern edge to familiar Malaysian tastes. The indoors are rather cramped and loud in both locations, but the Upper West Side spot has a nice outdoor seating area in good weather.
